Looking for help installing your new Energy Plus heater? You came to the right place.

Take a few minutes to watch our installation video below. Steve from our Tech Support team will help walk you through the process of installing a new heater and give you a few handy tips along the way.

Steps For Installing Your Energy Plus Heater

Step 1

To install the Energy Plus you're going to need to: cut a hole in the wall, next to a stud.

The Energy Plus needs to be installed a minimum of 4.5 inches from the floor.

Note: Make sure you do meet the minimum clearance of 3/4 of an inch on either side of the unit.

Step 2

Find the stud and mark it with a pencil.

Step 3

Cut the hole so that it is next to the stud -  either the left or the right.

Tip: Cut a small hole to make sure your line is right against the stud.

Step 4

Trace an outline for the heater that’s 10 and ⅛ inch tall by 8 inches wide and cut along the outline with a drywall saw.

Step 5

Setup a new line in your panel and from the breaker panel, route the wire to your wall can.

The Energy Plus works with 120, 128 and 240 volt circuits and it will set itself based on the circuit breaker you've installed.

Note: If you feel uncomfortable doing this work or doing the installation of the wiring have an electrician help you.

Step 6

Don't forget to turn off the breaker before you do anything else before installing the wall can.

Attach the foam pad to the side of the wall can that will rest against the stud.

Step 7

Remove a knockout from the wall can and install a cable clamp on supply wires

Tip: Leave at least 6 inches of wire to make heater connections

Step 8

Attach the cable clamp connector to the wall can and attach the wall can to the stud.

Step 9

Next step is to wire the connections.

Note: Make sure the cable clamp is in tight and leave about a half inch of the installation still there and cut back to our wires.

Step 10

240 volt heater only - make sure to incidicate the white wire as hot by wrapping with black tape

Note: If you're doing a 120 volt heater of course you would leave that alone, indicating it's a neutral wire.

Step 11

Attach the ground wire to the grounding screw and connect the supply wires to the heater with wire connectors.

Step 12

Attach the heater to the wall can.

Step 13

Install the grill, turn the breaker back on and your heater is ready to go!
